If you're fed up with buying bottled water, join the environmentally responsible ranks and fill your own bottles. There are hundreds of refillable water bottles in various colors, sizes, and fashion statements. While there is concern about the safety of some reusable plastic water bottles, most sold today are BPA-free (Bisphenol-A, a chemical used in making plastic, has been linked to a range of health problems.) Stainless stell is a safe choice, as are SIGG bottles, which are lined with an epoxy resin to eliminate any leaching from the aluminum exterior. Greenliving strategies at work, at home and on-the-go that are good for people and the planetIn green living I help businesses, organizations, and households identify and achieve practical and cost-effective green actions. I recognize that being green means different things to different people, so I can evaluates your day-to-day personal lifestyle and I then works with you to provide personalized direction toward a more sustainable operating or living environment.
In today’s market of green building many people are looking into non-traditional housing options. One of the options gaining popularity is that of organic yurts. Yurts offer a low-impact effect for a building site and they are easier on the budget than other forms of sustainable housing. Joe and I stayed in a yurt in Hana, Maui - http://www.luanaspa.com/accommodations.php. We wanted to try something different! It was romantic, private and wow what a view. The price was right too - about $150 a night. You’re tucked away in the trees, totally private. Guests have a great outdoor rustic shower that looks through a bamboo forest and over the ocean cliffs. The only thing wrong as far as I was concerned was the restroom is a little too far in the dark for the middle of the night. Also no TV or Internet. I loved that, but Joe sure didn’t. Its really like sleeping in a big tent but with a real bed and kitchen inside…kinda cool! |
